This topic deserves no explanation, but it may merit some
discussion. The characters debate the theory of inception and Saito’s job as
though it is an impossible mission and Cobb only briefly screens Saito
regarding the ethics of the idea they are planting into Fischer’s brain. One
could argue that Eames could have played Browning in many different ways, but
chose to go the route that left Fischer with an improved outlook. Nevertheless,
Fischer wakes up wanting to remember his father differently based on events
which never occurred.
